The Susquehannah Travellers

Susquehanna Travellers perform the music of Nineteenth Century America, focusing on the Civil War era and traditional Irish music. The musicians reside in York, Pennsylvania, and are Civil War re-enactors with the 87th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry reenacting organization. They have blended their love of history and the Victorian Era, with a total of more than 100 years combined musical experience, to bring to life the music of the Civil War era. The band has performed at Victorian Balls, living histories, historic sites, Irish festivals and Civil War re-enactments throughout the Mid-Atlantic States.

Matthew Dodd

Matthew Dodd

Dressed in period soldier's clothing, Matthew Dodd takes listeners back in time to feel what it was like to be a soldier, civilian, loved-one-at-home or escaped slave in the Civil War Era.  Through period songs, excerpts from actual letters, and anecdotes (humorous and poignant) Matthew evokes the feelings and passions of that pivotal era of American history.  Matthew bypasses the stories of the generals and the battle movements and concentrates on the feelings and stories of the individual soldier (North and South) , the mother, father, or sweetheart left at home, and of the men and women who "followed the drinking gourd" to freedom.  Matthew sings and plays acoustic guitar, harmonica, banjo and mandolin in an informal campfire or story circle setting.

The Maryland Division Sons of Confederate Veterans Color Guard

The Maryland Division Sons of Confederate Veterans is a patriotic and historic genealogical organization. All members trace their ancestry to a Confederate Soldier, Sailor, or Marine. The Maryland SCV Color Guard is formed to honor the service of Confederate soldiers. All members march in Confederate military uniforms, and keep historical accuracy in the uniform that is worn.  The Maryland SCV Color Guard has dedicated Monuments and has performed in Official ceremonies all over the Mid Atlantic. The Color Guard in Public Parades was awarded five 1st place prizes in five Maryland cities in the past year alone. To honor Confederate soldiers in formal military order the Maryland Sons of Confederate Veterans Color Guard marches in remembrance of Maryland’s Sesquicentennial.
